Maximizing Your Dental Benefits

Did you know? The average American only sees their dentist once per year, even though they have spent a portion of every paycheck on greater access to care.

It’s September, the time most dentists remind patients of the pending expiry of their dental benefits. Plans typically roll over on January 1st, and millions of Americans forfeit the benefits they’ve already paid for through payroll deductions by not using them in time. Don’t let that happen to you! Be sure and book your preventive care appointment now, before time runs out.

Your dental plan works like this:

  • Every payday, you pay a premium that contributes to the cost of your maintenance and preventative care

  • When you visit our office for your regular check-up, you may not have to pay anything out-of-pocket because these services are included in your plan

  • Costs tend to occur only when tooth restoration is required, making prevention the least costly of all care

  • Your plan pays a portion of restorative fees, and you pay the rest

Do you know what kind of dental plan you have?  Some plans allow you to see the dental professional of your choice, while other plans provide a list from which to select your dentist.  If your provider is not listed, most plans still pay toward your care and the cost to be seen is nominal.
